150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda - Rs. 5 & 150 Coins released.

This year on 12th January 2013, the Reserve Bank of India released a set of two coins on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. 

The denominations issued were of 5 rupees commemorative coin for general circulation. While the other was of the denomination of 150 rupees which was issued as proof or UNC (Un-circulated) coin. (The UNC coins are coins which are released for the collectors and not for general circulations. The respective mints generally issues advertisements for the public to order these issues in advance. So, these coins are usually shipped by the mints to the customers who have ordered with the right procedures.) Once the offer is closed, they can only be found from the novelty shops or sellers who deals with coins but certainly for a much higher prices.

I have still not got the coin for my collection. So unable to provide with the Rs.5 coins image.

Ten Rupees (Rs 10) Coins of India

Indian coins have a great variety and denomination thus an attraction for the coins lover all over the world. The largest denomination in circulated coin is still Rs. 10. 

Many of us were fancied when the government issue this coin - the reason may be its high value or the bi-metallic design; the first lot of the coins went into the lockers and only in 2008 many of us had the chance to view these coins.

But do you know before these bi-metallic coins, the government had already released 3 circulated coins of the value and those having a large amount of the precious metal - SILVER.

Old and discontinued One Thousand Rupee Bank Note of India

क्या आप जानते हैं की वर्तमान में प्रचलित एक हजार रुपये के बैंक नोट के पहले भी भारत में इस मूल्य के बैंक नोट प्रचलित रह चुके हैं। ना केवल एक हजार बल्कि भारत में पांच और दस हजार के रुपये भी मुद्रित हुए थे। जरा सोचिये उस वक्त इन नोट की क्या अहमियत होती थी होगी।

खैर पांच और दस हजार के बारे में फिर कभी, आज बात करते हैं एक हजार के इन पुराने नोटों के बारे में।

रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ़ इंडिया के द्वारा एक हजार का सबसे पहला बैंक नोट जारी किया गया था 1 अप्रेल 1954 को, जिसमे बी रामा राव के हस्ताक्षर थे गवर्नर के रूप में। पीछे तंजौर ब्रिहदेश्वर मंदिर का चित्र इस नोट में मुद्रित किया गया था।

एक झलक इस नोट की प्रस्तुत है -

इसी नोट में हिंदी में सुधार और रंग पर्तिवर्तन के साथ मुद्रित किया गया था, जो की 1967 तक जारी हुए थे।
इन नोट्स में क्रमशः  B.RAMA RAU, H.V.R. IYENGAR और P.C. BHATTACHARYA के हस्ताक्षर गवर्नर के रूप में थे।

आठ वर्ष के अंतराल के पश्चात डिजाइन में परिवर्तन के साथ 1975 से 1977 तक इन्हें पुनः जारी किया गया। इस बार गवर्नर थे - N.C.SENGUPTA और K.R.PURI .

और फिर बढ़ते हुए काले धन और नकली नोट के खतरे को ध्यान में रखते हुए इन बड़े मूल्य के बैंक नोट का प्रचलन बंद कर दिया गया था। और पूरे  तेईस बीस साल बाद इनका प्रकाशन महात्मा गाँधी सीरिज के तहत चालु किया गया जो हम आज प्रयोग कर रहे हैं।

Gandhi Commemoration Issues (1969)

This post might be disliked by many of the visitors here because this blog has been all about comics, but now I have decided to post non-comics related post here too.

Hope you friends will support the initiative, and I promise that it will not replace the original motif of the blog - our beloved comics.

In 1969 on the occasion of birth centenary of Mahatma Gandhi ji - Gandhi Commemoration issues of all the running denomination (Rs. 1, 2, 5,10, 100) were released in India. By that time Rs. 20 & Rs. 50 were not started.
