New Ten Rupees Indian Coin - International Day of Yoga 2015

Indian government has recently released a new commemorative Ten Rupees Bi-metallic (Copper-Nickel at the centre and Aluminium-Bronze at the outer ring) coin celebrating the occasion of the 'International Day of Yoga' organized on 21st June 2015.


In the Obverse (Front side) there is our National emblem Ashoka Stambh with the denomination 10 with the rupee sign. The country's name appears on both sides in Hindi and English respectively.

In the Reverse (Back Side) of the coin is a human figure doing Yoga in front of a Lotus flower. A circle representing the world surrounded the folded hands. 

The legend on the outer ring is - International Day of Yoga (अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस) 
and at the centre is - Yoga for Harmony and Peace (सामंजस्य एवं शांति के लिए योग) 

The coin prototype was released by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2015.
