Chitra Bharti 027 - Junior James Bond - Qaatil Mere Pichhe

Presenting again a very rare comics and publication for all you comic loving friends.

Before coming towards the introduction of the character, let me introduce you to the Chitra Bharti Kathamala. If you love Super Commando Dhruv and Anupam Sinha, you got to know about Chitra Bharti Kathamala. This is the place where Anupam Sinha started his mainstream comic career debut with his characters Private Detective Kapil and Space Star. This Kapil later found the base of the great Super Commando Dhruv creation. So if you love SCD, you should thanks Chitra Bharati Kathamala for that...

Again Junior James Bond is yet another creation of Sukhwant, a funny young detective...Enjoy the simple and plain humour in Sukhwant style...

Hi anupam

it is hard to belive that one can keep the books i such a pristine order for such a long time.

great work again..

for this "chitra bharti katha mala"
few information form my side..

1. Write Anupam also created one more character " manas Putra" who was more like 'he-man' and his first comic "mahamaya ki talwar" was simply awesome.

2. Private detective Kapil was very good but i can recall that i saw only two of comics of his own else his story was attached with other comic book say junior jamesbond. his one comic was " nakli goli asli maut" and the other was story related to "mummy"
(Egypt location)

3.one of the junior james bond comic was a big surprize as there was no story but reader has to solve around 100 puzzles to get some big prize from publisher.

4. this comics started very well but it went out of market without any notification or news. ( i would like to say again that Thanks to Anupam we can racll this old gems else hardly anyone remembers)

Anupam and all others does any one have comic of "chotu lambu" creater Shehab, and published by Diomand ?
if yes then pl do share them as well.

Dear Kuldeep,
Thanks for the information Buddy. Do visit my profile and join the Indian Comics Encyclopedia community and share with me the infos to help me buid a mega encyclopedia of Indian Comics History.

Do you have any Space Star Comics by Anupam Sinha. I am dying for that. Again I have one comic of Kapil - Maut Ka Farishta but the last page is torn out...

Yes, I have one Chhotu-Lambu by Shehab titled "Super Duper Man" published in 1993 (15 years ago).

Very funny tale,CBK semms pretty gud,how many years they exssit??do u hav any info??
Yes,I guess Indian Comics History is PRETTY RICH,which later spoiled by bad artists/writers n NOW it's like allmost non-exisitent,WHICH SHOWS FROM OUR MADNESS TOWARDS "OLD OUT-OF-PRINT" Comics,as current era serve a BIG ZERO!!

You once told tht your r intend 2 collect AT LEAST ONE frm ALL Indian publications,,which inspired me to do same!! :-)
Allthough "other than" Indrajal/Diamond/ACKs r really tough 2 collect,but once a while I use 2 get some,,LETS HOPE 4 D BEST!May be after 2-3 years down line,we'll collect a lot(I meant Physical copies!)

Between,Comic World magazine by DC was awesome in it's early days('98 to 2000) where books(some 100-120 pages) were filled wid Indian/Western comics in a balaceed way and where I read some nice Indian comics first time in my life,,but after some 18-20 issues, standard became bad!:-/

PS - CW is still under publicatn, but I don collect 'em!

Anupam said...

@Kuldeep - Yes, I am from Durg, Chhattisgarh. Where do you live in Durg Pal??? Get in touch...

@Dara - CBKM was great in quality. Though it last about 2-3 years, but I think it did fair. I think it was publishers decision to stop as they were into academic books and still they are among the biggest - S.Chand & Co.

And I have reached near a treasure of old comics in a shop about 1000 of them, soon I would purchase them

Hey Anupam good to see somebody talked about Pvt. Detective Kapil. Anupam actually started his career with S.Chand thanks to Sukhwant Kalsi (creator of Jr.James Bond)- Anupam started as an illustrator for Nanhe Samrat- the very first issue that was released in 1985 had Anupam drawn images, later on Anupam became Stan Lee of India and another very junior illustrator named Javed joined Nanhe Samrat who mimicked Anupam for a longtime before developing his own drawing style.
Sukhwant Kalsi is still advisory editor with the magazine though he moved his base to Mumbai where he is writing stand up acts for comedians, he was one of the writers for Shekhar Suman's Movers & Shakers too. Recently met him at a production house :)
P.S. I had Manasputra Aur Mahamaya Ki Talwar - But mom sold it to Raddiwallah :( if U remember Anupam used Mahamaya as Supreme Power in one of the biggest crossover in Kalyug..

Anupam very nice selection of comic.
Kuldeep i am having a Chhotu-Lambu comic named "Chhotu-Lambu aur Khooni Chamgadarh",its cover i had already posted at one of my post.
I too am is a fan of all Shehab creations,i would like to know more about him,if anybody could throw more light on his earlier creations.
I came to know about Shehab from 'Parag',where a two page comic article of Chhotu-Lambu use to appear along with Madhumuskans in which Manglu Madari aur Bandar Bihari was presented by him, later Shehab drew comic covers for Indrajal comics as well as one page comic article Chimpu, after which he was picked up by Diamond comics where full comic on Chhotu-Lambu were featured by him.
His other comic creations are "Chaman Charlie" etc.

Anupam said...

@Comic World - Thanks for the appreciation. About Shehan I too know very little.
@Ashish - Thanks a zillion buddy.

@Dara - Yes, Its true. I have been visiting that old book shop for years. One day when I asked him, he told me he has brought a lot of comics, and showed me them. They were more than 1000 in quantity. I didn't had time then, so I asked him to wait for me. I roughly checked it and I believe it has a lot of comics of about 60-70 characters including some very very rare MCKs, and other lesser known publishers like Neelam, Durga etc..

Hi Anupam,
Thanks a lot fir the good work. I had some of these comics in my childhood, but unfortunately lost them either to the kabaadi, or some "friends" who flicked them from my place. It feels great to revisit these childhood memories.
I will also join the indian comics encyclopedia, and help in whatever way I can.

Thanks Anupam.

It is good to see rare comics here, every where else I see Raj comics only.

If you come across some Fauladi Singh comics, could you post them? He was the guy who made me a sci-fi junkee! I can harldy find anything about his comics except the one you have, Murda Grah.

Keep up the good work.
